This local cemetery has a very unfortunate name. Baby Head Cemetery is an old cemetery near Llano, Texas. As you may have guessed, the cemetery’s name has an extremely creepy origin story. Baby Head was the name of a small Texas community that cropped up during the 1870s. It was named Baby Head because of an urban legend that claimed a young child was murdered near the settler community.

Baby Head was eventually absorbed into Llano, Texas, but the small cemetery remains. We’re not sure why Baby Head disappeared. We have a feeling that its name might have had something to do with it. Baby Head Cemetery is the only remnant of a distant past when people didn’t care how creepy the name of their town sounded to outsiders.
