Comedy clubs are having a moment right now. They are popping up as more and more people crave special experiences when they go out on the town. This signage for a local Salt Lake City comedy club tried to play coy, but it didn’t quite pull it off. The venue painted this huge mural on the side of the building as a way to direct visitors to the club.

Sadly, this giant mural might turn people away instead of drawing them inside. The guy peeking behind the curtain is downright terrifying. We feel like we’re in trouble and are being scolded by a scary old man. The venue was trying to go for a vintage comic book look, but we don’t think they pulled it off.
