#25: Cancer Sensors
We already mentioned that dogs have the incredible ability to sense stress in humans. However, this canine skill is even more impressive and useful than that. Today, we now know that we can train dogs to detect cancer in humans. Hopefully, one day, we can train them to detect more diseases!
Multiple studies have shown this to be true. To do this, dogs need to smell a person’s breath. Once they do, they can detect both lung and breast cancer. However, I’m still confused about how they share their findings with human doctors. Perhaps the border collie learned 1,000 words from our previous slide!
