#13: Smelling Feelings
This fact boldly claims that dogs have a seemingly supernatural ability to sense our emotions using nothing other than their noses. Considering dogs have a sense of smell that is about 40 times better than ours, is it so hard to believe? Dogs seem to be better than us in more ways than we thought.
The reality behind this claim is a bit more nuanced. Researchers have found that dog noses can pick up on one particular human emotion. When we are stressed out, our sweat glands produce a specific set of chemical compounds that dogs can pick up on. Other emotions remain conveyable via other means.
