#35: Egyptian Cats Were Sacred
If you think you love your feline, you should hear about ancient Egyptians’ reverence towards the cats in their society. As this fact points out, Egyptians once shaved their own eyebrows when mourning a cat, but that is not the only way they showed their appreciation for these creatures.
Archeologists have also found that Egyptians would mummify some cats after they died, which is quite a high honor. Since I have a majestic beast of a kitty at home, it is not difficult to see why ancient people believed cats were sacred. Although, I think I wouldn’t go as far as mummifying her!
