#6: Your Friends Aren’t Always Going to Be There
Many parents like to teach their kids self-reliance and independence. Growing up, many of us heard a version of the line, “Your friends aren’t always going to be there for the answers!” Our parents undoubtedly wanted to teach us how to think for ourselves when they said this. However, we’re not so sure this line works on kids anymore.
Parents can’t really use this line anymore because, well, everyone’s friends really are there for all the answers. If you want to talk to someone, you just pull out your phone and text them. Your friend isn’t available? Google is there. Can’t find what you need on Google? You can always turn to the advice of a stranger on TikTok.
