#9: Where Are the Dinos?
Almost every kid is fascinated with dinosaurs at one point or another. What’s even more fascinating is the amount of new information paleontologists have discovered over the decades. Back in the ‘70s, most people had no idea what caused dinosaurs to get wiped off the face of the Earth. They simply vanished, right?
Today, it’s generally believed that a comet or asteroid hit the planet and caused the dinosaurs to become extinct. But we didn’t know that back in the 1970s. Plus, it’s only recently become a general consensus that birds are the much smaller descendants of dinosaurs. Although the first bird-like dino, Archaeopteryx, was discovered in the late 1800s, the bird theory wasn’t agreed upon until recently.
