#14: The Lies Teachers Tell
As adults, we say things to the kids in our lives that have a huge impact. The thing is, we probably don’t even realize how important our words and actions are to kids. This person’s outlook on life was hugely influenced by an off-hand comment their elementary school teacher made one day.
Our storyteller asked their teacher what created a rainbow. The teacher said that scientists hadn’t figured it out yet. Now, any adult reading this knows that the teacher had no idea what created a rainbow, but she didn’t want to admit that. Instead, she made up a white lie. However, our storyteller fully believed that white lie until they were in their early 20s. Try not to lie to kids, okay?
