A Serious Investigation
This story shows that there are still some good HR departments out there that will actually look into every complaint. As an employee, you have the right to file a complaint with HR if you feel that a coworker is creating a hostile work environment. This HR employee shared the time they had to investigate a silly complaint about a dog.
Apparently, someone felt that a coworker had spoken disparagingly about their dog. To be clear, this dog didn’t work in the office, so it wasn’t present for the disparaging comments. After an in-depth investigation, it was discovered that the employee in question did, in fact, say some rude things about a furry friend. Our storyteller had to have a very serious talk with them about getting their pet-hating remarks under control while at work. Very serious stuff.
