#45: “Microwave Ready”
Someone came across this potato at Walmart one day and simply had to take a photo. This potato is shrink-wrapped in plastic as a marketing ploy. The sticker says this potato is meant to be microwaved in the plastic wrap for an “oven-baked taste.” The thing is, you can microwave a potato without plastic. It will come out tasting exactly the same.
As far as we can tell, microwaving a plastic-wrapped potato doesn’t taste any different from microwaving an unpeeled potato. The process is the same either way. You stab a few holes in the skin, pop it in the microwave for about seven minutes, and then you get to enjoy a baked potato. We bet the company behind this packaging charges more for these “special” potatoes. Don’t fall for these packaging marketing ploys.
