#5: Wrap Up Your Bananas
This Dole banana packaging is out of control. For whatever reason, these bunches of bananas are saran-wrapped and placed in individual plastic trays. If the Dole company wanted to brand their bananas, they could have just stuck with the usual sticker on the banana peel. That would have been way less wasteful.
Everyone knows that bananas can stand on their own in the supermarket. Their skin might be slightly delicate, but they’re overall pretty sturdy. Their peels act as natural packaging. This extra layer of plastic is totally unnecessary. People are going to rip open their package of bananas once they get home, anyway.
