#23: What’s in a Name?
Shakespeare is credited with writing the line that says a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet. But is the same true of writers? Today, there are at least 80 variations of the spelling of William Shakespeare’s name, and no one is sure which one is correct.
Interestingly, there is no record of Shakespeare spelling his name the way we do today. But this shows that precise names are not all that important compared to what they represent. No matter how you spell his name, there is no denying this poet’s impact on the written word and the world as a whole.
