While it’s often good to be as specific as possible when asking or explaining something to avoid confusion, being too specific – or oddly specific – is an entirely different beast that is as bewildering as it is funny. While you don’t want to leave room for any doubts, you also don’t want things to get weird. If you want to see what we mean by “oddly specific,” join us as we take a look at 40 instances where people, companies, or signs were so oddly specific that it made people go, “Huh?” as they tried to make sense of them.
#1: Any Event
This list starts off normal enough. Weddings and graduations are perfectly normal events for which to hire a caterer. But then as we get to the third item listed, that’s where things take a turn for the weird. Horse funerals? Never heard of such a thing. Then they go on to mention interventions, Tuesdays, a quiet night alone, return of Jim (who’s Jim?), and then horse funerals again.
As weird as this sign is, we actually might have an explanation for this one. If you look at the bottom, you see a logo. The logo is “Obvious Plant.” They’re known for selling strange gag gifts that are a little on the surreal side. But this is just an appetizer. Many things on this list are as real as it gets.
