#14: An Oddly Specific Fine
Look, we’re all for penalizing someone who doesn’t need an accessible parking space and decides to use it anyway. There are really no excuses for that kind of behavior; those spaces should be reserved for people who actually need them. But once again, it’s all about the specifics here. Why the extra two dollars? Why not your standard $500?

Maybe being oddly specific can scare people straight. Maybe those extra two dollars are what it takes. Often, fines aren’t actually as much as the sign says, so perhaps the specific amount tells the person parking, “You’re going to be fined this exact amount.” If so, we’re all for it. But why stop there? Why not $502.38?s
