Okay, I’m going with some creative license here, but I’d like to imagine that she hadn’t yet resigned and was just scoping out potential jobs, but it turns out they were going to fire her anyway, and here we are. That seems like an epic plot twist to the whole situation.
Even without all the subterfuge, it’s still hilarious that her current job is the perfect fit and something she would seek out when she sees it in black and white. Maybe this is a sign she should just keep her job? Why quit one and move to another if more pay isn’t involved? Perhaps that’s the true plot twist. The company offered more compensation to someone else for the job she’s already doing!
