#8: Eragon, the Leopard Gecko
Keeping a leopard gecko as a pet is like having a tiny dinosaur in your home. They stare at you with their beady little eyes, waiting for you to make a move so they can pounce on their prey. But don’t be fooled by their intimidating appearance; these geckos are as lazy as a sloth on a Sunday morning. They’ll spend the whole day basking under their heat lamp, only moving to flick their tongues out and lick up a mealworm or two.
But that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re low maintenance. These little guys have more demands than a diva on a movie set. They need the perfect temperature, the right amount of humidity, and a cozy hideaway to call their own. But despite their high-maintenance tendencies, there’s nothing quite like the feeling of having a leopard gecko curl up in your palm and drift off to sleep. Just don’t be surprised if they start snoring louder than your grandpa after Thanksgiving dinner.
