#22: Strong Instincts
Beavers are renowned for their instinctive drive to build dams in response to the sound of running water. This intriguing behavior has been demonstrated through experiments where researchers placed speakers emitting the sound of running water near beaver habitats. In these studies, the beavers’ natural response was almost immediate – they began constructing dams around the source of the simulated running water.

This curious behavior shows the beavers’ strong natural inclination to modify their environment by creating these dams, which serve as shelter and protection for them. It’s a surprisingly inspiring proof of the beavers’ incredible adaptation to their surroundings and their ability to respond to auditory cues that signal the need for dam construction.
