#17: A Ghost of the Past
Dinosaurs are some of the most fascinating creatures to have ever lived. It’s hard to imagine that beasts as large as the dinosaurs walked the same ground we do today. Thankfully, some preserved dino tracks still survive to help us imagine the scale and scope of their existence. Someone stumbled across some dinosaur tracks and couldn’t help but compare foot size.
This is the preserved footprint of a theropod dinosaur. Theropods were bipedal, carnivorous dinosaurs. The T.rex is probably the most famous of the theropods that we know of today. We’re not sure if this footprint is from a T.rex or some other species. What we do know is that it’s huge. This three-toed dino was way bigger than we humans. We can glean that information just by comparing footprints.
