#12: The Effects of Light Pollution
We tend to forget just how much of an impact our cities and suburbs have on our planet. Unless you live out in the country, you very rarely get to see the night sky in all its glory. This comparison photo is a huge reminder of how light pollution is almost always present.
The photo on the left is a typical nighttime photo of a suburb somewhere in America. It looks pretty average until you look at the photo on the right. The right-hand photo was taken during a power outage. You can see the entire night sky full of stars without all those street lights getting in the way.
