#28: You Had One Job, Stairs
Here’s the thing about a fire escape: it’s really only doing its job if it helps you escape from a fire. If all it does is take you down a floor and dump you on another balcony, then it has only relocated you to an equally dangerous part of the building.
Or perhaps this is the fire escape on the wall of a parkour athlete’s home. Maybe they didn’t bother putting in another ladder because they looked at that height drop and thought, “No problem, I’ll just take that drop.”
