#43: The Helpers
One of the most difficult lessons for some people to learn is how to ask for help. A lot of people are used to giving without receiving. They’ll often pour everything they have into someone else’s situation to help out. While it’s a positive quality to have, it’s important to set boundaries to avoid burnout.
A lot of “helpers,” as Toni Tone calls them, often don’t ask for help for themselves. They’re so used to helping others and getting nothing in return that this just becomes a given for them. That shouldn’t be the case! Everyone needs help at some point or another, whether it’s a shoulder to cry on or someone else to do the grocery shopping. If you have a friend who fits this description, make sure you check in on them to see how they’re doing.
