#24: Mind the Gap
Apartments are notorious for their cheap materials and wonky design choices. The truth is that management companies want to spend the least amount of money possible. They’ll let bad paint jobs and poor kitchen ventilation slide if it means they maximize profits. Here is a perfect example of what we mean. What in the world is this gap doing between the stove and the wall?
This useless gap is a catch-all for the grease and grime that comes from cooking. If the condition of the stove is any indication, the person who lives here isn’t a big fan of cleaning, either. We don’t want to think about all the grime disguised by the festive stone print on these countertops. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we have the sudden urge to go clean our kitchen from top to bottom.
