34. No Leaving Until It’s Done
If your child likes to wiggle and squirm when you’re putting sunscreen on them at the beach, this is definitely the advice for you. It’s a good philosophy; it gets them to hold still at home because they are eager to go but know they won’t be able to leave until it is done, whereas if you’re at the beach?
Well, they’re more likely to already be excited to start running in the sand and the water. The real trick is going to be in remembering to put sunscreen on them before leaving, given what a flurry of chaos it usually is to try and get children out of the house in the first place.
