10. We’re Following the Leader, Wherever He May Go
Nonverbal communication is still communication, and especially in the earliest times, it’s the only sort of communication infants have to understand you. Therefore, it is critical to help them get used to the reality around them by helping them understand when it’s time to rest.
Giving them any sort of stimulation, or you yourself seeming stimulated, will only contribute to keeping them alert and awake for longer. By showing the baby that you too are going to rest, it helps them both learn to understand and better do what you’re trying to help them do.
