#8: Really?
These railings are utterly pointless. It’s not like you’re going to be taking a tumble down Mount Everest or anything—it’s just a couple of steps, for crying out loud. Sure, there are plenty of different people who need railings for support, but ones of this size seem to be trivial at best.
It’s like we’ve lost all faith in our own ability to walk up and down a few steps without tripping and falling. Maybe instead of installing railings on every staircase, we should focus on improving our balance and coordination. Or, if all else fails, we could just start crawling on all fours like our distant ancestors.
