#10: Larger Than Life
Like us when we first saw this photo, you may have questions when looking at this enormous, slimy blob. At first glance, it seems similar to a slug, though that explanation wasn’t quite enough to satisfy my curiosity. Something about it didn’t seem close enough to any slug I’d ever seen.
After much searching, I can say that we’re dealing with a Black Sea hare. Yes, the name is slightly strange, but I suppose its appearance somewhat resembles a hare—if you squint. It is the largest species of sea slug and can be found in parts of California and Mexico.
