#31: Motivation
For many of us, our motivation to work – or at least most of it – comes from our need for money. We need money not only to pay for goods and services (or to afford luxuries), but to sustain ourselves in the world. To pay groceries and bills and to afford rent. So, that’s the main reason why we work.
Of course, it’s even better if you find a job you enjoy, so that some days it doesn’t even feel like you’re working. But even for those of us who truly love our jobs, at the end of the day, a job is a job, and we’re here for the money. The money that can be exchanged for goods and services, as Homer Simpson puts it.
