#11: Guilty Conscience
As a duty solicitor, she defended a minor delinquent. Before the court, she advised him to cooperate and be truthful. During the case, the judge gave him a chance to speak. He stood up and admitted not only to the charge at hand but also to multiple unsolved robberies, leaving everyone, including the state attorney, astonished.
It wasn’t clear why this happened on the day, but most of us chalked it up to the defendant having a guilty conscience and just wanting to come clean on a bunch of things. Still, to this day, it baffles everyone that was in that room.
