#10: There’s No Coming Back From This
I represented someone on trial for Assault in the Third Degree and DUI, which is a felony in my state if involving an aid worker or police officer. While the officer was testifying about the offensive statements my client made, he suddenly yelled, “You’re a liar! Screw you, you son of a…!” Regrettably, we lost the trial due to this outburst.
Why can’t people ever just sit still and act in the proper manner? Obviously, it can be annoying, frustrating, and downright rude, but there are certain situations and contexts where this behavior is not only expected but also necessary.
