#2: Moments That Make it All Worthwhile
I handled step-parent adoption during law school. While presenting a motion in court, the judge interrupted me midway, stating they were ready to sign the final order. They signed it on the spot at the bench. The client was present and started crying tears of joy before we even left the courtroom.
While there are plenty of stories whereby the defendant walks away unhappy, this is actually one of the few cases where the exact opposite happened. Adoption cases don’t always go smoothly, or quickly for that matter, so this is just beautiful.
