The Secret Language of Birds
Ethology, or the study of animal behavior, has always been a fascinating yet perplexing subject. How does one even begin to understand another species they cannot fully communicate with? Primates can learn sign language, and some birds can speak. However, these behaviors seem to prove that some animals communicate through their actions rather than words or even body language.

We’re no experts, but it sounds to us like the birds are thanking Elizabeth for the peanuts by offering something in return. These are polite birds with traditional southern manners! Maybe they knew humans made it and thought we’d like it returned? We can’t help but wonder, do these birds have an etiquette system we didn’t previously know about? Ornithologists are welcome to weigh in!
