#55: Paper Towels vs. Hand Dryers
Ah, the good old-fashioned debate about paper towels vs hand dryers. It seems like we all have our preferences. Some prefer towels after washing their hands, others hand dryers. However, have you ever thought about the bacteria that can be spread when using both? I haven’t, and I almost wish I hadn’t read this latest random fact.
We finally have an answer: When you use a paper towel after washing your hands, the bacteria on your hands decreases by about 40-60%. However, when you use a hand dryer after washing your hands, the bacteria on your hands increases by about 225%. That’s a big difference. Again, not sure I need to learn this one. Sometimes, it’s best to live in ignorance. But, hey, at least we now know!
