Here’s a celebrity rivalry you didn’t know you needed in your life. Kate Winslet and Tom Cruise most likely have a deep-seated rivalry when it comes to holding their breath underwater. Tom Cruise broke the record when he held his breath for six minutes in Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. We’re not sure what the previous record was, but six minutes is a long time.

Kate Winslet decided to break Tom’s record like a flimsy screen door. She held her breath for a whopping seven minutes and twelve seconds while filming underwater for Avatar 2. Take that, Tom! Kate underwent intensive free diving training to prepare for her underwater Avatar scenes. It certainly paid off.
