#10: Bleach Shelf Life
Bleach is one of the most heavy-duty cleaning items in most of our homes. However, most people don’t realize that it has a short shelf life. According to some manufacturers, bleach is best used within six months of the manufacture date. After that, it starts to degrade and becomes less potent.
If that bottle of potent bleach sits under your sink for long enough, it eventually turns into salt water. The most toxic, deadly household item eventually just turns into salt and water. It takes a while for this to happen. According to Clorox, bleach degrades at a rate of about 20% per year. So, if you have a bottle of bleach lying around the house for a few years, now might be the time to change it.
