#21: Small Fish in a Big Pond
Someone ordered a Nintendo DS game, and it came in this giant box. If you have never held a DS game in your hands, here is a picture for scale. These chips measure about an inch high. There is no reason to put such a small object in such a huge box. Why do sellers do this?
Some people speculate that tiny products are over-packaged to reduce the chances of them getting lost in the mail. That is a valid theory. If someone packaged this video game chip in a tiny, thin envelope, it might never make it to its new home. It’s better to be safe and wasteful than sorry.
