The Self-Sue
“Man sues himself and wins.” Good, we guess? It’s certainly an odd headline. The following dictates the story of a Kentucky man who threw a boomerang that smacked him in the head. As a result, he sued himself for 300,000 dollars … and won. In actuality, this was done in an attempt to curtail any insurance costs. He didn’t have to pay himself a penny.
The insurance company fronted all of it. “I paid all that insurance for a long time just in case something unforeseen like this ever happened,” the man explained. The courts ruled that he “caused body damage through negligence and carelessness.” Alright, dude, we see you. Way to work the system.
