#21: A 1920s Toaster
This terrifying contraption is, believe it or not, a toaster. The first electric toaster was released in the early 1900s and has gone through many transformations since then. This particular model is from the 1920s. Surprisingly, it still works! The person who owns this antique toaster shared that it has been in their family for generations at this point.
It’s miraculous that the electric cord is still intact after all these years. It probably uses more power than a modern-day fridge, but we digress. Apparently, this toaster’s owner uses it daily to make their breakfast. These 20s-era toasters were notorious fire hazards, so we’re not sure how we feel about that. Oh well. If it works, it works!
