When it comes to certain rides and mechanical safety, the world has come a long way since the 1980s. The 80s were a time when safety was taken seriously, but not to the extent that it is today. Luckily we have greater technology to be able to guide us today.

Take this particular car carriage ride as an example in Switzerland in the 1980s. It isn’t particularly safe but for some reason, people are sitting inside this half-broken car in a cable car lift. Is this a good solution to a problem? I mean, it gets the job but that’s the only good it does.
