Weird Things Dogs Can Do

March 28, 2021 by Emma Cooper

Dogs can do some of the most bizarre things from time to time. They go from the loyal friend who wants to walk and play with you to the dog that’s sitting or jumping around being crazy. Today we’re sharing some of the weirdest things dogs can do to provide some entertainment.

Tail Chasing

It’s hilarious to watch your dog chase their tail, right?! Well, this weird thing that dogs do actually means your dog might have an obsessive-compulsive disorder. They may not be finding the proper entertainment in their daily life.

To stop the tail chasing dog, simply add more activity in their life. This can be done by purchasing new toys or taking them outside to run and play more frequently.

Circling Around to Sleep

We’re certain you’ve seen a dog circle around to sleep. This behavior seems to be part of making a comfortable bed. They want to feel comfy when they lay down to sleep for the night.

Your dog circles around on their bed to make sure the bed is comfortable and everything is in place for their body to feel good while they drift off to slumber.

Besties With Cats

Some dogs find friendship with pets in the home that you’d never expect. We’ve heard stories of dogs becoming friends with bearded dragons, but what about cats?

Yes, some dogs have this weird connection with the beloved feline friends in your home. If you see your dog curled up with the cat, have no fear, this is a great friendship that’s worth promoting.

Licking Faces

Dogs use body language and other behaviors to communicate with people and other animals. You might see your dog licking another dog’s face or they lick your face.

This behavior is weird but totally normal. This is your dog’s way of saying they’re not a threat to the person or animal that they’re trying to “communicate” with.

Food Burying

You give your dog a special bone and they beg to get outside so they can bury it. Perhaps you give your dog a different treat just to find it lost in the couch cushions during spring cleaning.

These food burying habits of dogs are normal, much like the other weird things dogs can do. Dogs like to bury their food so they can find it later for a quick treat and keep other animals from stealing it.

Pets are a joy to have in the home. Whether you’re a dog owner, cat owner, or have an exotic pet we hope that you found yourself smiling or shaking your head as you read these weird things dogs can do.
