Lazy or Smart? Times Lazy People Were Peak Genius

November 23, 2010 by Sarah Carter

It takes a certain amount of brainpower to be lazy and still succeed. It’s no surprise to me that studies have shown physically lazy people tend to have higher IQs than their go-get-’em counterparts. Seriously, it takes a next-level genius to build a parking garage for their appliances instead of hefting them into cabinets or coming up with other creative solutions to accommodate their laziness. These people are solving problems with barely any effort! This is all about working smarter, not harder, and here are amusing moments that prove my point that sometimes being lazy pays off. What you might call lazy, I’m calling a #lifehack. Enjoy!

#1: Accidental Winter Wonderland

Even if this wasn’t intended, I like to think their subconscious was hard at work in the background. This person was too lazy to take down their Christmas lights, and they were rewarded spectacularly when an ice storm blew through and left them with colored icicles on their entrance.

While I’m sure it was quite the surprise the year it happened, we all know they’ll try to recreate this time and again. Now, instead of being lazy, they’re actively communing with nature for aesthetics. The delight and awed smiles of children passing by are worth waiting an extra month or three to take down your Christmas lights!
