There are many things that humans do to annoy their pet dogs from time to time and today we are focusing on some of those habits that humans have that annoy dogs. I mean, your dog doesn’t’ speak so we’re just guessing that your dog doesn’t appreciate these types of things.

Staring
We all have that habit of staring at our dog when they’re intently staring at us. So what’s with this staring competition? Well, your dog wants you to do something or get them something it seems. What your dog doesn’t want is to have a long session of staring at each other until one blinks or moves.
Tight Hugs
Some dogs are much like humans who enjoy their space. Tight hugs for too long can annoy your dog, so be sure to read their body language. The next time you try to hug your dog and they seem to want to pull away or whatnot, then consider that a sign that they don’t like that many hugs and you should stop hugging them so forcefully.

Loud Voices
Some dogs are sensitive to the yelling of humans. Don’t yell at your dog, they will shake and cower in fear when you do this. This is much like toddlers who shudder when their parents yell at them. Dogs have feelings and can get started with loud voices. Try to keep your voice even when talking to your dog or scolding them for doing something naughty!
Teasing
This isn’t something most adults do, but young children will often be found teasing their pet dog. They don’t do it to be mean, they perhaps think they’re playing with their canine friend. The issue is that teasing a dog with a favorite toy or treats, barking them at incessantly or other similar acts annoy your dog and can create tension between you/your child and the dog.
Too Much Alone Time
Your dog, much like a child, enjoys your company! Try to refrain from keeping your dog home alone too frequently. They desire the social interaction of humans and want you to be a part of their every life. Leaving a dog home alone too often will often annoy your dog to the point they start chewing things or misbehaving to show you that they’re not happy with you!

These are just some interesting things dogs hate that humans do. There are many other things we humans may do to annoy or pet dogs, but we thought this list was a good enough start. Now that we shared a list of things dogs hate, perhaps you can pause to reflect upon things you’ve done that your dog may not truly appreciate and stop that habit.
