The Bigger, The Better
When the 1970s arrived, people kept going with the oversized sunglasses trend. They couldn’t seem to stop themselves from creating shades that were even bigger and bolder than their 1960s predecessors. However, instead of circular and oval frames, sunglasses started adopting larger-than-life rectangle shapes to push the envelope.
It wasn’t out of the norm for a 70s fashionista to wear colorful sunglasses that covered half of her face. Sunglasses changed with the times and eventually began using signature 70s colors like sage green, ocean blue, and burnt orange. Sunglasses have always been a way for people to make bold statements with their looks, and the 70s were no different.
