Mistake: Gas Canister can be seen underneath the chariot
The Ancient Romans were true pioneers, leaving a legacy that still shapes our world today. From ingenious inventions to remarkable road networks, they had a hand in many things. However, I’m pretty sure they didn’t have gas canisters lying around in their heyday. If they did, well, it’s a well-guarded secret!
Fast forward to the making of the 2002 historical drama movie Gladiator, where the team pulled out all the stops to recreate those iconic chariot races. Here’s the twist: they missed hiding or editing out a gas canister discreetly tucked at the back of one chariot. It’s one of those blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments, but once you spot it, you can’t unsee it! The Romans might not have had gas canisters, but ‘Gladiator’ certainly had its own little anachronistic surprise.
