#30: The Ultimate Crocodile Infographic
Those who think there are no crocodiles in Egypt are in de-Nile. The crocodilians on this chart consist of reptiles, including gharial, caimans, alligators, and crocodiles. They are semi-aquatic predators. All crocodilian species have similar body structures: nostrils and eyes on the top of their heads, large protective scales, muscular tail, powerful jaws, and an elongated snout.
True crocodiles are one of three taxonomic groups. They include 14 species. Some group members include the American, freshwater, Philippine, and saltwater crocodiles. There are eight species of caimans and alligators alive today. Only one species of gharial is still in existence.
