#60: Skip the Scraping
We love Hanukkah. The food is delicious (doughnuts!), and the lights are unbelievably beautiful. It’s such a lovely time for reflection. The lighting of the menorah each night is a reason for family and friends to get together. The flames are as mesmerizing as they are symbolic. There’s just one thing; all those candles sure can leave a mess behind after eight nights.
Peeling off candle wax isn’t the worst chore in the world, but it is tedious. You can scrape forever and barely make any progress. So why waste your time when there’s a simpler way? First, turn your oven on to a low temperature. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, then lie your menorah on its side on the tray. Place in the warm oven for a while, and behold the clean menorah!
