Why Cats Are Better Pets Than Dogs

June 10, 2021 by Sarah Carter

This conversation may be up for debate like whether cats are better pets than dogs, but we’re going to share the reasons why having a pet cat is easier and better than having a pet dog.

For all you cat lovers out there, you’re welcome!

For all you dog lovers out there, we’re sorry. We will have to share the reasons why having a dog is better than a pet cat soon, too!

Cat People are Smarter

According to one study, it’s been shown that cat owners are more intelligent than dog owners. While the cat owners are more intelligent, they are less outgoing than dog owners.

Splash Less

Cats are less likely to take a bath and then shake all over you. They are also less likely to go rolling around in a mud puddle and run through your home shaking their dirty wetness all over your house.

Cats are Cheaper

Cats cost way less than dogs do, as far as pet ownership goes. Cats don’t cost as much for vet visits, they don’t have to be licensed with your town like dogs do, and they eat cheaper food. This means your pet dog is costing way more than your neighbor’s pet cat is costing them.

Independent Creatures

Cats are more independent creatures than dogs are. They can stay home alone and fend for themselves as long as you leave a water refreshing bowl and food out for them. Dogs will eat their full supply of food on that first night you’re gone and then poop all over the house.

Love is More meaningful

Since dogs tend to love mostly all good humans, it will mean more when that feline comes over and show you some love. Cats are finicky about showing affection and getting attention. This means if your pet cat shows you any sort of love, then it is way more meaningful than a dog’s love and affection.

Live Longer

Most pet cats live far longer than the dogs that you own. Cats can outlive most dogs and while it’s sad to watch them grow older, it’s nice to know that a pet cat will not drift away as soon as a pet dog can. It’s heartbreaking to watch any beloved pet pass away that’s for sure!

This was a fun article to write, and of course, meant to be mostly entertaining for all the cat lovers out there. We know darn well that all pets are wonderful in their unique way and we hope you found some humor and new fats to learn within this article today.
