Matthew Perry
The cast of Friends seems to be going through a tough lately. First, people were going after Jen Aniston after she said ”real actors don’t exist anymore,” and now Matthew Perry is the next one on the line to get canceled. The actor’s memoir went viral this week after fans noticed a rather rude remark Matthew wrote about Keanu Reeves – America’s sweetheart.
Even though Matthew made some heavy comments about his co-stars and other celebrities, my heart goes out to the guy. Battling with addiction is not an easy journey; it can take us to some really dark places and make us say really questionable things. I hope Matthew gets all the help he needs to start a new, better chapter of his life.
Joss Whedon
There was a time when Joss Whedon could do no wrong. From Firefly to Buffy the Vampire Slayer to Dr. Horrible’s Singalong Blog, It seemed like everything he touched became a hit. You couldn’t be a proper nerd if you didn’t love at least one of his properties (mine was Firefly, though I can still sing all the words to every song in Dr. Horrible).
But—and at this point, I’m not even sure why we bother being surprised at this stuff anymore—it appears there may be a dark side to him. Many actors that he has worked with have come forward to claim that he engaged in some pretty crappy behaviors; the phrase “casual cruelty” gets thrown around a lot. WarnerMedia investigated these claims and says that “remedial action was taken,” whatever that means.
