When you were younger, going to the beach and making sandcastles was one of the highlights of the things you got to do in the summer months. You were so free that it almost didn’t even matter how sandy you got, or even that your sandcastle wasn’t perfect.

Not usually known for its warm and tropical climate, Germany is home to the largest ever sandcastle recorded. Having taken over 3 weeks to complete and more than 3500 tons of sand to assemble, this sandcastle would put every sandcastle you have ever made to shame.
