#6: Secretly Helping
It can be difficult when someone you love needs help but refuses to accept it from you out of a sense of pride. But the other side is totally understandable, too: it can be really difficult to admit that you’re struggling to make things work on your own and accept help, even from a loved one—or sometimes especially from a loved one.

So this person found a clever way to help. His loved one insists on going to a food pantry rather than accepting help from him, so he helps secretly by making sure that the food pantry has something his loved one wants. This solution is a win for everyone: he knows he’s helping, but the other person gets to keep their dignity.
