#26: Honoring the Living and the Dead
Do you ever think how fascinating it is that humans make such a fuss about cemeteries? It makes sense if you’re religious, I think, but even if you’re not religious and don’t believe in life after death and believe that once a person dies, their body is just a pile of worthless molecules, there’s a good chance you find meaning and significance in having a place where your loved one’s body is interred and where you can visit them.
It would be really hard if health and age made it impossible for you to go to that physical location and visit your loved one. It must mean so much to the residents of this town that someone is looking after the graves in the churchyard and making sure they are well kept.
